Useful thermal curing technology

2021-09-10

In the related applications of printing and flexible electronics, basically the substrate is mainly made of flexible plastic materials or paper, so the curing method has also been very challenged.

The traditional curing method can not meet the matching of various different applications of printed electronics. Here we want to introduce several common heat curing drying methods.

Option 1: Pulsed light
The main principle of pulsed light drying technology is to use energy storage to discharge light instantly, so that the intensity of light can reach hundreds of times that of general constant-brightness luminescence. In pulsed light technology, xenon (Xe) is the main light source. source.

Pulsed light uses this characteristic of the material to provide hundreds of times the light energy to melt and solidify the material instantaneously, so as to achieve the purpose of sintering the material on a low-temperature substrate.

Option 2: Near infrared Ray
The main emission spectrum of near-infrared rays is in the range of 500nm~2000nm. In the general common flexible plastic substrate or paper, the penetration in the region of 500nm~2000nm is very high, and the relative absorption is small. Therefore, the substrate and the material to be cured can be heated separately by space separation, so that the substrate is not deformed and the material can be dried.

Option 3: Composite infrared curing technology
As mentioned above, pulsed light technology and near infrared have their own advantages and disadvantages in material drying and sintering. Pulsed light can sinter materials, but it is not an ideal choice for drying, while near infrared can quickly sinter materials. Dry, but less power in sintering.

In order to solve this problem, the rapid drying characteristics of near-infrared rays are used to quickly remove excess water and solvent from the material, and then use pulsed light to sinter the material. Such a composite solution can meet the drying needs of users.
